Yesterday, I went to print something out, after not having touched it at all since the last time I printed a few days ago, and what am I greeted with Print head not installed. Install the print head properly, and close the access cover. Wow, all I had to type into google was 'printing error: print head not installed' and the first link that came up was the Canon IP1500. ![]() I read that 5 blinks means - "The print head is not installed, or it is not properly installed (EEPROM data of the print head is faulty). With the new print head installed, I get 5 times orange at first, but if I open the top lead then I get: long green-orange-green-orange, and the carriage is absolutely still. It appears that Apple does not provide a driver for this printer so it may be due to the fact of an outdated driver. With the old print head, I get 5 times orange light, and the carriage moves ok. ![]() Without any print head installed, there is no error signal. It gave me a 5 times orange light, so I purchased a replacement refurbished print head, model QY6-0064.
